SUMMARY: Clary Fray just wants her life to go back to normal. But with her mother in magically induced coma, demon hunters friends, downworlders suddenly being seen, a best friend who is changing in very complicated ways, and Jace ( her maybe long lost brother) who she may or may not be in love with life is far from normal. That is not to mention a psychotic father who want to seize control of the Shadowhunters and change their ways with the help of his demon army that only answers to him. Clary is far from a normal 16 year old girl.
RATE: 5/5 Stars
FAVORITE QUOTE: "If you really love something you never try to keep it the way it is forever. You have to let it be free to change."
SONGS THAT REMIND ME OF THIS STORY:
Hurricane- Mindy Smith
For Love- Nina June
For a Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic- Paramore
FINAL WORDS: In this breathtaking sequel to City of Bones, Cassandra Clare lures her readers back into the dark grip of New York City's downworld, where love is never safe and power becomes the deadliest temptation.
I found myself completely enthralled by the way the words on the page seemed to come to life before my eyes. The plot, characters, settings, etc. were beautifully written and I was compelled the whole time. I am mesmerized by the Shadowhunter world and I'm ashamed to have waited this long to get into this series. The excitement that wells up in my chest when I think of these characters and this story is indescribable. I cannot wait to see what Cassandra Clare has in store for us next.
WHAT I LEARNED: People are always of getting hurt. When they are hurt for the first time they make sure to never get hurt again so when a person senses that they are about to get hurt again, they do stupid things to protect themselves,
