We are all someone’s kid. We’re all someone’s friend or foe. We are all someone. We’re all defined by different words. Those words are what separates us from the person next to us and allows us to be our own individuals.  The words I choose to describe myself are not the ones you would choose and that’s what allows me to stand out. I am vibrant and full of life. I seek new adventures and love to learn new things. I relate more to fictional characters than real people. I am the girl you see always with a book under her nose. I’m a coder, a friend, a designer, an intellect, a feminist, a reader and so much more.

Hi, my name is Sirena Martinez and if you did not know that already this is a little awkward. I am an 18 year old girl located in the East Coast of the United States. All of my life I’ve lived in New Jersey with my family and I’ve loved every minute of it for the most part. I grew up in a big family with two older step-siblings, three younger siblings, and a lot of cousins that practically lived with me. It was never a dull moment regardless of which side of the family I was with. My dad was always in and out of the picture, but I spent a lot of my childhood with his family. For the most part I am living a pretty good life and it technically has not even begun yet.

If I had to use three words to describe me those words would be compassionate, creative, and enthusiastic. Whether I am working on a new project, communicating with people, or reading an amazing book I put my whole heart into every little thing I do. I have a big heart and I care deeply for a lot of things. Majority of the time you can either find me working hard on a project, talking to people, or engaged in something I love.

I'm the creator of Follow the Books Book Club ; an internet book club that host monthly read-alongs. I post my personal thoughts that I like to call discussions throughout each month  and when the read-along is over I post a Spoiler-Free Review of the book for those who did not have a chance to participate. I started this book club on January 3, 2015 for one main reason: I wanted a book club that was created for Teens.

Hey I'm also a booktuber! That isn't anything new. If you're a reader you are more than likey a booktuber too. Which I don't mind, I love booktube! It's a great community and if you haven't heard about it I highly recommend you check it out. My channel is Follow the Books (duh), but I also recommend you check out emmmabooks, tashapolis, and magicalmolly (they're some of my favorites). Booktube is a community of readers who post videos about anything and everything books. It's fantastic!
