An Abundance of Katherines Discussion 4

Ch. 13-16-

There are several events that occurred in the last four chapters that deserve their own discussions by themselves. In Chapter 13 Hassan got his first kiss with a girl who is Lindsey's best friend, Katrina. Lindsey teaches Colin how to shot and she shows him her secret cave in Chapter 14. They have a conversation about life and chameleoning through it. There is a quote that Lindsey says to Colin that got me thinking about the person I am. She says, "...The thing about chameleoning your way through life is that it gets to where nothing is real. You're problem -how do you say it- that you're not significant?" I believe what she said in some ways is true. You go through your life being a different person depending who you are around it gets to the point that you don't know who you really are and before you know it you are a full fledged chameleon.

In chapter 15 our characters go hog hunting. It was great reading about the hunt and see how serious people take it. Hassan had me cracking up with "Real. Fat. Kid. Asthma. Attack." After they got chased by the hornets. When they freaked out about the hog was hilarious as well. Rule number one: never take a city kid hunting! It upset me in chapter 16 when we find out about TOC and Katrina's activities. The things they did to Lindsey was awful but I love how everyone defended her and tagged teamed up on TOC even though everyone was getting hurt by him. I'm nervous to see what will be happening in the last chapters. I hope Lindsay will be okay and Colin will recover from his injuries. I'm sad to see this book end but here is to the next adventure.
