Part 1 (Chapters 1-12)- Part 2 (Chapters 1-9):
"Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe" unfolds with an introduction to Aristotle; or Ari as he prefers to be called; and his life as a 15 year old Mexican boy. Aristotle is a misunderstood boy who seems to have no friends that is until he meets Dante at his community's local swimming pool. Dante is a kind, intelligent, and charismatic boy who is just as misunderstood
as Aristotle. he offers to teach Ari to swim and they soon become the best of friends. Although Ari and Dante are very different they still find a way to have fun. I love how open yet secretive their relationship with each other is. I specially love the witty banter their occurs between almost all of the characters.
My favorite character in the story so far is Dante. I'm a sucker for down-to-earth male characters in books. He is a beautifully constructed character and he is not afraid to fight for what he believes in or shed tears when upset.
Aristotle's character is more complex and more rough around the edges compared to Dante. His complexity makes Ari more relatable for male readers and it's amazing to read about a character who seems so realistic. I am anticipating the next upcoming chapters and what new adventures are Ari and Dante take me next.
