Chapters 1-11:

The story begins automatically with the death of the main character's best friend's suicide. Meg sends a time delayed email to her family and Cody to be sent a few hours after her death. The email contained everything about her suicide except why she did it. After the several ceremonies, prayer circles, candle lightings, and Meg's funeral it is time to finally grieve. Meg's parents ask Cody to collect Meg's stuff from college since they could not bear to do it themselves.

When Cody arrives at the campus she soon discovers Meg was not the person she thought she was and that her suicide might not be exactly what it seems to be. Meg just might have killed her self to protect someone else.
